Empowering Legal Innovation with Professor Fred Galves

Professor Fred Galves is the former owner of Galves Litigation Consulting. He was a tenured law professor in Colorado and is now a partner at the law firm of Orona, Garcia and Galves in Pueblo, Colorado. Professor Galves was a full professor at the Pacific McGeorge faculty from 1993-2015 and thereafter he taught part-time at UC Davis Law School International Program, Concord (Online) Law School, Colorado College (Political Science) and Colorado State University Pueblo (Hasan School Business ). Professor Galves also offered litigation technology consultant services.

Professor Galves lectures widely on the use of technology in the practice of law. He is an Evidence casebook author and has published several other law books and law review articles. Professor Galves has taught at the University of California at Davis School of Law, Fordham Law School, the University of Denver Law School, Southwestern University Law School, and Colorado College.

Professor Galves also teaches several international courses to Americans and foreigners. He has taught Trial Advocacy in Chile and China, private international litigation in Guatemala and Austria, alternative dispute resolution in Germany, and for many years taught in the UC Davis USA Law Orientation Program for foreign attorneys and LLM students.

Following graduation from Harvard Law School in 1986, Professor Galves served as a judicial clerk for Judge John L. Kane (U.S. District Court, District of Colorado). He later practiced with the Denver law firm of Holland & Hart, specializing in complex commercial litigation and litigation against former directors and officers in failed banks and savings and loan associations.

Galves has worked on national banking legislation with both the Senate and House Banking Committees. Professor Galves has done pro bono legal work in Chile on a human rights fellowship from Harvard, and was a Harvard teaching fellow in Principles of Economics (“EC 10”).

Professor Fred Galves has been a law professor since 1993 and he was the owner of Galves Litigation Consulting. Professor Galves taught Evidence Civil Procedure, Civil Procedure, and other Litigation-related courses. Galves was a full professor at the Pacific McGeorge Law School faculty from 1993-2015. He was a law professor at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento, and Drivon Law School (Humphreys University), and he was the Director of the Paralegal/Legal Assistant Program at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California. Galves also taught part-time at University of Colorado Pueblo, (online) “Business Ethics,” at Hasan Business School, and Colorado College (“Colorado State University Pueblo and Sacramento City College”). Galves is now a partner at “Orona, Garcia & Galves, PC” in Pueblo, CO.

Professor Galves lectures widely on the use of technology in the practice of law, including the use of 3D computer animations and virtual reality exhibits. His use of technology in teaching and his former computer-assisted litigation course has inspired several universities to recruit Professor Galves as a visiting professor. He has taught at the University of California at Davis School of Law, Fordham Law School, the University of Denver Law School and Southwestern University Law School. He also teaches as a visitor in the Political Science Department at Colorado College and in the business school of CSU Pueblo. He also taught at Lincoln Law School and Drivon Law School in California.

At Pacific McGeorge, Professor Galves taught Civil Procedure, Evidence, and Computer-Assisted Litigation. He also administered the Street Law International Program in conjunction with Sacramento Charter High School, Florin High and McClatchy High – a program in which law students teach legal concepts and trial advocacy to inner city teenagers. He later continued to teach that course at Lincoln Law School at Florin High School, Luther Burbank High School and Hiram Johnson law School in Sacramento.
